Is Running The Best Exercise To Get Into Shape?

If we were to look at which exercise consumes more energy - then certainly running burns significantly more calories than walking due to the fact that it’s a pretty intense activity, however, don’t be discouraged just yet - as there are many other easy-to-do exercises (such as brisk walking, climbing up stairs) which has been shown to produce positive health benefits.
So to answer the question - the best exercise to get into shape is the exercise you LIKE and will enjoy doing on a regular basis. Commitment to a regular workout routine is more important than the intensity of a particular workout.
At the end of the day, if you’re someone who has never exercised before - any form of exercise is a great start already, and will help you get closer to reaping the full benefits of exercise. Walking is the most common form of exercise in the world and it requires very little skill and is a very convenient form of exercise because we can do it almost anywhere - just remember to stay away from the highways.
Remember - exercise is supposed to be fun! So find something you like doing, and stick to it.
